I wanted to let you know of the death of my Father Albert Adshead. Albert served in Egypt/Suez for 3 years national service as a tanker driver and fleet manager. He started in 1952, trained at RAF West Kirby and at RAF Weeton as a driver.
He joined 613 City of Chester Squadron, sailing on the Empire Ken arriving in Egypt 2 days before the Coronation.
He played cricket and football for 51 MT and travelled all over Egypt, he spent 9 months on active service when Nazzr seized power and was demobbed in July 1955.
He always spoke fondly and with humour about his time in 51 MT.
