Bryn Jones, the Babcock Transport Controller at Royal Air Force Lyneham, died suddenly on 16th Feb 06. Bryn was in this post from December 03 until he died.
Bryn's service career saw him at many RAF MT Sections, including a significant stint at RAF St Athan Driving School. He was therefore a well-known and popular character within the trade.
Bryn's work at Lyneham placed him in a pivotal Station role, where his extraordinary commitment and attention to detail made him an exceptional 'Team' member. No matter what the challenge, Bryn met it with a smile. He will be greatly missed by his work colleagues and I'm sure by many throughout the trade in the Royal Air Force.
A Service of Thanksgiving for Mr. Bryn Jones will be held in St Michaels Church of All Angels in Lyneham Village, at 1300 hrs on Friday 3rd March 2006. The Jones family welcomes friends and colleagues who wish to pay their respects.
Mrs. Jackie Jones's, Bryn's widow, has requested flowers from family only, but has asked that kind donations in Bryn's memory will be gratefully accepted and forwarded to the 'Stroke Association'. Those wishing to donate can do so through Paul Davies at Lyneham (95481 Ext 7221), or at St Michaels Church on the day. Letters of condolences may also be passed through this route.
